Privacy Policy
The short version
Purrennials is made by Woo Studios (Paul Wallace). This policy explains what the game does with your information. The short version: the game doesn't collect, store or send any personal information about you, and it sends no usage data.
What the game uses, and why
Your microphone. The cat can hear you. When you say "pspsps", click your tongue, clap or talk to it, the cat reacts. The game listens for those kinds of sounds on the headset itself, while you're playing. Nothing is recorded, saved, or sent anywhere, and the game stops listening when it's in the background or closed. You can say no to the microphone and still play everything: you can call the cat by waving, and it comes to you anyway.
Your hands. The game uses the headset's hand tracking so you can garden and play with the cat with your hands. The hand data stays on the headset and is used only while you play.
Your room (Space Setup). If you've set up your room on the headset and you allow it, the game reads the room layout the headset already knows (where your floor, walls and furniture are) so your cat can move around your real room and the garden can sit on your real desk. This stays on the headset. The game doesn't see camera images of your room, and it doesn't send the layout anywhere. You can say no and play in the game's own cozy rooms instead.
Your game save. Your garden, your cat and your progress are saved on the headset so you can carry on where you left off. The save stays on the headset. Uninstalling the game deletes it.
Everything else
What the game doesn't do. No accounts or sign-in, and no names or email addresses. No ads, and no tracking for ads. No analytics or usage data: the game doesn't report what you do in it to anyone, us included. No chat or contact with other players. And no selling or sharing of your information, because we don't collect it.
Meta. Purrennials runs on Meta Quest and uses Meta's own software to work with the headset. The game itself sends no usage data: we've taken the usage reporting that comes with Meta's developer tools out of the game. Your headset and the Meta Horizon Store work under Meta's own privacy policy (meta.com/legal/privacy-policy), as they do for every app.
This website. If you use the contact form or sign up for news on this website, we get what you type in (your name, your email address and your message) so we can write back or send you news. The site is hosted by Wix, which keeps it for us. We don't share it or sell it. You can unsubscribe from any news email, or email us to have your details deleted.
Children. Purrennials is for all ages. Because the game doesn't collect personal information, it doesn't collect any from children either. If you're a parent and have questions, contact us.
Changes. If the game ever changes what it does with information (for example, if we add a feature where friends' cats can visit), we'll update this policy before that version comes out and change the date below.
